Learning

Penmaenmawr Museum has a variety of learning resources for all ages, schools and home educators

Learning Resources

Penmaenmawr Museum is working hard to produce learning resources that can be used by teachers in the classroom or by home-educators. We are developing learning resources that fulfil the needs of the Curriculum for Wales and the Mantle of the Expert approach.

If there are any topics you would like us to cover, please get in touch.

School Visits

Penmaenmawr Museum welcomes school visits with a maximum group size of 30 pupils. Pupils can follow the timeline history of Penmaenmawr in the museum gallery which links into curriculum-based topics such as social history, archaeology and geography. Interactive activities include a History Hunters trail around the museum, and technology such as microscopes and digital screens. A quiet room is available if required.

For more information on school and home-educator visits, please download the information pack here. Please note: we request that all school visits are booked in advance.

Group Visits

Penmaenmawr Museum welcomes groups interested in finding out more about our work, our collection and the history of the area. If you would like to book a group visit, please contact us.

Loan Boxes

Penmaenmawr Museum has a number of loan boxes covering different topics relating to local history and the Curriculum for Wales . The loan boxes contain real and replica objects, information sheets and ideas for activities.

Our selection of loan boxes will gradually expand over time. Please get in touch with us if you are looking for a loan box that covers a specific topic. We also work in partnership with Conwy Culture Centre that has an excellent range of loan boxes available for schools.
